Hello, my name is Orlando. This site is a collection of my work — essays and articles that I’ve written, projects I’m currently working on, past and current research efforts.

The topics include policing, gender-based violence, philosophy (and robotic navigation).

I am currently pursuing a master's degree in sociology at Concordia University, in Montréal. My research revolves around penal abolition, that is, the movement to abolish criminalization, policing and incarceration as means of bolstering oppressive systems and managing the consequences of social inequality, and to devise new strategies for addressing conflict, harm and social injustice.

I also hold a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from McGill University, with a minor in philosophy. I previously worked at the 211 Grand Montréal, an information and referral service that helps people find community resources.
